The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) issued an advisory for Filipino travellers on Wednesday reminding them of the six-month passport validity rule required in some countries around the globe.
On its Facebook page, DFA reminded Filipinos that some countries require a passport that is valid for a minimum of six months. Countries that follow the policy are Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam. Additionally, countries like Canada and Mexico required a passport that is valid for at least three months.
The policy also affects Filipinos who are flying back home as the Philippines also follow the same passport validity rule.
According to the Filipino Times, the DFA urged its citizens to renew their passports a year before its expiry date so as to avoid any hassles while travelling.
