A Pakistani expat in Dubai is seeking help in finding his wife who has been missing since the morning of November 9.
Mukhtar Ali told Khaleej Times that he last saw his wife Qurat-ul-Ain, 41, when they had breakfast together at their home in Muhaisnah 4 on Monday morning.
"I left home at around 3.45am because I have an early morning shift. We ate together and she was perfectly fine. But when I came back home at around 6pm, I could not find her," said Ali, who works for Dnata Travels.
"The door was locked and as I usually don't carry a spare key, I had to call the watchman to get a master key to enter the house. The tea cups and plates were left unwashed on the table. She has not taken her mobile phone, passport or any money," said the husband.
She was likely wearing a black abaya when she left home, he added.
According to him, his wife had been upset because he had asked her to go back to Pakistan because of coronavirus-related financial difficulties.
Ali said he has registered a missing case at the Al Qusais police station and has also checked with friends. He called all hospitals in the hope of finding some information about his wife.
"We haven't had any luck so far and our family in Pakistan and the US is really worried," said Ali.
Ain, known as Anny in family circles, has been a Dubai resident for the last 22 years. The couple has a son working in the US.
