A Bangladeshi woman and an Indian man committed suicide in Sharjah in separate incidents on Saturday, according to police report.
In the first case, the 28-year-old Bangladeshi housemaid, identified as Kohinoor, hanged herself from the ceiling of her room in the sponsor's house in the Semnan area of Sharjah.
The Sharjah Police said they received a call at the Operations Room from the sponsor to report the incident. The police collected all the evidence and shifted the body to forensic laboratory for further investigation. The police also took the sponsor for interrogation to determine the cause of the death.
In another incident, a 33-year-old Indian man committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling fan at his room in a building in Muwailiah. The man, identified as K.M., was living with his roommate, who informed the police about the incident.
A police source said in both the cases, the initial report revealed no foul play and they had launched an investigation.
