A 40-year-old fake Egyptian doctor, who possessed a hotel management degree but ran a clinic in Dubai, was nabbed in an undercover operation.
After receiving a tip-off, two officials at the Dubai Health Authority informed the Dubai Police about a clinic where a bogus doctor was offering treatment to people. A health inspector fixed an appointment with the fake doctor. He posed as a patient suffering from hair loss.
After receiving the money, the suspect examined the inspector's hair and gave him medicines, which were not registered and approved with the Ministry of Health and Prevention. The police arrested the man and seized a huge quantity of the medicine from his possession.
It came to light that the suspect had rented the room and was running the clinic for sometime. He didn't have any licence to practise medicine.
The man confessed to the police and health officials that he was not a doctor and only had a certificate of hotel management.
