A worker, who killed a compatriot roommate after throwing him out of a window following an alcohol-induced verbal brawl, was sentenced to ten years in jail on Sunday.
The Court of First Instance found the 30-year-old Indian worker guilty of a murder charge and ordered his deportation after the end of his jail sentence.
The court records show the two men had consumed alcohol when they had a fight.

The defendant claimed the victim spoke in an abusive manner about his mother and sisters which made him lose his cool. He pulled him and then threw him out of a window in the room. The man then looked down and saw his friend badly injured but instead of calling for help he went to sleep. The victim died on the spot.
It was revealed that the victim did not put up any resistance when he was dragged towards the window because he was drunk. The accused was also under the influence of alcohol but he was aware of what he was doing then.

The case dates back to November 11, 2016 in Jebel Ali.
"We were alerted to an incident of a fatal fall from a window at a labour accommodation in Jebel Ali. Workers there told us that the two men were drinking alcohol when they suddenly started to fight," a police lieutenant said.
"There was no witness to what happened exactly there. In his account of what happened, the accused claimed the victim asked him to bring him a glass of water and then started to slap him and verbally abuse his mother and sisters. That provoked the accused, who then grabbed the victim by his hand, pulled him towards an open window and pushed him down."
