An Asian man was killed after his car crashed into a heavy truck on the Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road.
Alerted about the accident, the central operations room of the Sharjah Police immediately dispatched traffic patrols, ambulances, paramedics, and rescue teams to the site.
Sources with the Sharjah Police said that the accident took place at an area close to Maliha.
"Initial enactment of the accident showed that the victim was trying to take over the heavy truck ahead, but lost control over the steering wheel, and collided into it."
The driver sustained critical injuries, suffered excessive bleeding in his head and died on the spot.
His body was shifted to the morgue of the Al Qasimi hospital for burial by relatives while the accident file was referred to the bodies concerned for legal action.
Police said that all drivers need to strictly observe traffic rules and regulations, which "are meant for road users' safety".
Speeding and swerving or poor takeover have been blamed for so many deadly accidents across the country, they pointed out.
