The National Centre for Search and Rescue authorities rescued An Emirati national (36) after he was lost in a mountainous area at the Malaiha village in the emirate.
The man had called the Sharjah Police operation room after he got injured while trekking in rocky parts of the village.
The air wing of the National Centre for Search and Rescue rescued the injured person by a helicopter and rushed to Al Qasimi Hospital for treatment.
Police officials said that the person was exhausted. He got injured after he suffered a fall that prevented him from trekking further to the top of the hill.
The police urged hikers and trekkers to be careful while climbing mountains and take the prescribed safety precautionary measures.
"They hikers and trekkers must carry all means of communications to alert the police in case of any emergency and call 901,999 to request for rescue and help,” the police said.
