An under construction building caught fire late night on Thursday on Sharjah's Jamal Abdel Nasser Street, near Al Khan bridge.
According to initial reports, the fire had erupted on the top floor of the 18 story building. There were no casualties reported until this report was filed.
A number of fire fighting trucks arrived at the scene and extinguished the fire after initially struggling to reach the top of the building without cranes. The cause of the fire remains unknown.
