To prevent any misuse of UAE SIM cards overseas, the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) urged residents outside the country to contact them via three hotlines.
In a tweet, the TRA reminded residents to get in touch with them in case they lose their mobile phone while travelling. The TRA can then block the phone's SIM card in order to prevent it from being used maliciously.
The authority can be contacted using any of these three toll-free numbers

????The TRA's tweet comes after the UAE embassies in Turkey and Thailand issued a SIM card warning for residents and citizens travelling from either Thailand or Turkey. The two warnings urged travellers to cancel the SIM card they are using before returning to the country. Failure to do so may lead to misuse which could result in fines and legal issues for travellers.
