You want to buy kids clothes, sew torn ones, get a hairdo or take a photo, all these and up to 16 services will be at your door steps thanks to launching of licences for quick-fix mobile cars services by the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED).
All the services at malls or shopping complexes will soon be just a phone call away. The 16 services offered also include repair and replacement of tyres, cleaning and polishing cars.
Tajer Abu Dhabi Licence initiative, however, is offered only to nationals and with an aim to boost entrepreneurship.
ADDED acting undersecretary Khalifa bin Salem Al Mansouri said such initiatives will attract nationals to become major partners in the business sector.
Abu Dhabi Business Centre acting CEO Mohammed Munif Al Mansouri said ADDED has set several standards to obtain a licence.
"The car needs to meet the requirements and conditions of the Traffic and Licensing Department in terms of its validity and licence. Each car shall be operated by two persons only," he said.
"All the authorised trade activities are licensed directly by the ADDED and do not require the approval of the external bodies."
Al Mansouri noted so far 81 licences have been issued, 40 of which were allocated to the general trade activity, 16 for import, eight for trade agencies, seven for export and five for a trade intermediary and others.
Mohammed Ali Al Marar, director of ADDED Trade Licences Department, said the exterior of the mobile car should adhere to the norms approved by the department.
He noted services for women will be delivered by women staff. "No services shall be provided on public roads. All services will be delivered without causing any disturbances to other residents," Al Marar added.
More services are expected to be added in future.
