The Sharjah Police have arrested a gang comprising African and Arab nationals who have been convincing people that they can double their money. The gang claimed to have special material that can summon a witch who will, in turn, help double their money.
Top police officials from the Eastern region said they received information about the suspects using witchcraft and that many unsuspecting residents had fallen prey to the scam. A team of CID officers verified the information and raided the houses of the gang and seized materials and paper which they claimed they could convert to Dollars. The police sent a man with genuine cash asking to double the money, and caught the gang red-handed.
The suspects, during interrogation, confessed to their crimes and the case has been referred to the public prosecution.
