Abu Dhabi judicial authorities are running short films through social media to create awareness about child protection.
The Ramadan campaign covers issues like domestic abuse, online bullies, and the dangers of unlicensed driving for youngsters,
The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD) said on Monday that it has rolled out 9 short films containing education awareness messages on several issues affecting children and the entire society and vital to individuals.
Launched last week, at the beginning of Ramadan, the films will continue to be posted on the department's social media sites daily in addition to being broadcast on various television channels in the country through the holy month of Ramadan.
Among the short films are Your Children Amana, which shows the importance of parents taking care of children and the negative effects of leaving them to the care of housemaids and nannies, films on loyalty and patriotism, obedience to parents, tips on safety and security and the importance of abiding by the law.
The films are telecast on Abu Dhabi Al Emarat, Sama Dubai, Noor Dubai and Sky News. "Spreading awareness about the law, obedience, discipline and the well being of people among all members of the community including youngsters is the department's top priority," said a judicial official.
Officials said it's the responsibility of a parent to safeguard and protect their children. "Parents should be mindful about their role of taking good care of their children and should stop leaving small children to housemaids all the time without monitoring them," said officials.
The awareness films they have produced and posted on YouTube focused on cybercrimes like blackmail, bullying of children, child harassment or abuse, begging, divorce and family problems, labour rights and other legal issues.
