Holders of Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) credit cards can now pay their traffic fines exceeding Dh500 in instalments, thanks to a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the bank and the Dubai Police.
The customers can avail the interest-free service and opt for a period of 3, 6, 9 or 12 months to pay the fine amount.
The MoU was signed by Brigadier Humaid Salem Khalifa Al Suwaidi, deputy director of finance department of the Dubai Police, in the presence of Brig Naim Khatib, director of the department of wills, and Lt Hussein Al-Abdouli, head of the traffic fines collection.
Brigadier General Abdullah Al-Marri, commander-in-chief of the Dubai Police, said that the signing of the agreement was aimed at strengthening partnerships to achieve communication and innovation. The pact provides a new and easy channel for the customers so that they can pay the traffic fines in instalments.
He pointed out that the innovative service has been initiated by the Dubai Police as part of its strategic plan to facilitate clients, have partnership with the private sector, and to bring about happiness to the community through a series of services across several channels and outlets.
