The Dubai Police’s Innovation Lab has recently received accreditation from the Global Innovation Institute (GII). It is the first police force in the UAE to be awarded the Artificial Intelligence and Natural Language (AINL) accreditationand was listed among 52 other accredited innovation labs around the world.

Lieutenant-General Abdullah Khalifa Al Merri, the Commander-in-chief of Dubai Police, received the certificate on behalf of the force.

He praised the innovation team’s efforts and reaffirmed Dubai Police's innovation drive as one of its key strategies.

The renewed focus is in line with the government plans for 'a year of preparations for the next 50 years’ and ‘the UAE Centennial 2071’.

Colonel-Lieutenant Dr Ibrahim Bin Sebaa Al Marri, the Chairperson of the Innovation Council at the Dubai Police, said the remarkable achievement demonstrated the force’s innovation strategy.

It was designed to provide the best policing work and services that meet the public's needs and satisfaction.

"The Dubai Police Innovation Lab will launch an external innovation platform next year that will engage both local and international communities in introducing their innovative ideas and solutions to build a better future for all of us," Col. Lt. Al Marri said.

"Dubai Police have been making rapid progress by implementing innovation in security work and services. We’re looking at a future full of innovative and qualitative achievements and projects, which the laboratory has been working on over the last 10 months to improve the policing system," he added.

Murad Al Qasem, chief executive officer (CEO) of SARI, a certified innovation strategist of GII and an authorised innovation assessor, congratulated the Dubai Police for their feat.

"A team of certified assessors from SARI company, an accredited entity of GII, visited the Dubai Police’s Innovation Lab," he said.

"The Innovation Lab was found to be complying with the highest standards of capability and followed the best practices of innovation. A clear strategic direction and a state-of-the-art infrastructure are the pillars of its foundation," he said.

“The safety standards level of the lab’s halls, which are built to encourage the force’s creative thinking, is one of the main reasons that Dubai Police were conferred on the prestigious award,” he added.
