A police patrol was sent to the hotel to find that the man, who seemed under the influence of alcohol, was out of control.
When the policeman tried apprehending him to take him to the police station, the man violently resisted, injuring one of the policemen as a result - before they arrested him.
Bin Ghalaita added that after taking him to the detention center, the officers called his family and the embassy.
The tourist apologised for his behavior, explaining that he wasn't aware of his actions. He added he was visiting Dubai for the first time, and that he normally shows great respect for the police.
The Brigardier added that seeing an opportunity for reconciliation between all parties involved, the man apologised to the European woman and the policeman.
