The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has expanded its direct billing services that previously only included emergency services at Latifa and Rashid Hospitals to now include emergency, impatient and outpatient services in Latifa Hospital and Mankhool Health Centre.
What this means is that these DHA facilities have now begun accepting all insurance cards, billing them directly instead of patients settling the bill and later waiting for reimbursement from the insurance provider.
The DHA also signed 34 contracts with health insurance companies and with NEXtCARE.
Approximately 5,000 patients who are privately insured have been treated since DHA launched the direct billing service.
Rashid Hospital, Latifa Hospital and Mankhool Health Centre will start accepting those included in these insurance packages - starting November 7.
The contracts were signed by Humaid Al Qatami chairman of the board and director-general of DHA and Christian Gregorowicz CEO of NEXtCarein, in the presence of high-level officials.
Al Qatami said the authority spares no effort in developing an insurance system that aims to provide a happy and healthy society among members of the Dubai Community. He added that DHA hospitals and centres have the needed cadres, capabilities and preparations to take in those who are included in the insurance and provide them with the best medical services and that are of high quality.
