All non-essential travel must be avoided by Indian expats, including to their home country, said the Indian government on Wednesday. Travellers could also be subject to a 14-day quarantine upon their arrival to India. (Coronavirus outbreak: All the latest updates)
In the most recent travel advisory issued by India's Bureau of Immigration on Wednesday, March 12 said, "All incoming travelers, including Indian nationals, are advised to avoid non- essential travel and are informed that they can be quarantined for a minimum of 14- days on their arrival to India."

Furthermore, all foreign and Indian nationals entering into India from any port are expected to furnish a duly filled self- declaration forms which includes personal particulars, that is, phone number and address in India and travel history to health officials and immigration officials.
Dr Harsh Vardhan, the Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Science and Technology, Earth Sciences, Govt of India took to Twitter to share the advice with Indian nationals across the world. The Consulate General of India in Dubai also shared the revised guidelines and advised in Indians in the UAE to remain vigilant.
On Tuesday, the Union Health Ministry asked people to refrain from travelling to China, Italy, Iran, Republic of Korea, Japan, France, Spain and Germany and advised them to avoid non-essential travel abroad in view of the coronavirus outbreak.
