As many as 668 motorists benefitted from the Traffic Points Programmes held by the Abu Dhabi Police.
On its Instagram account, the force announced on Tuesday that 581 motorists who committed traffic violations got their driving licences back after attending those programmes, and 87 motorists got their black points reduced.
The police's follow-up and aftercare Department organised 133 programmes at the Traffic and Patrols Directorate in Abu Dhabi and the Traffic Council in Al Ain for three months, from October 2017 until January 2018.
Lieutenant Colonel Saif Obaid Al Khaili, head of the Police Follow-up Department, said that the programmes improved traffic culture and positive road habits by training motorists, as part of the police efforts for safer roads.
He called motorists to follow the rules to avoid being fined, which lead to record traffic points in their traffic file and thus exposing to seize their vehicles or licenses
Major Ahmed Juma'a Al Khaili, head of the Traffic Points Reduction Section, said the programmes are available for motorists who have committed traffic violations, have had their licences withdrawn or vehicles seized.
To attend, apply at the Traffic and Patrols Directorate in Abu Dhabi or Traffic Council in Al Ain or by calling 600566006.
