The Dubai Police operations reported 54 road accidents and received 1,521 fog-related calls, in the early morning hours on Sunday, between 6:30 am and 9 am.
Colonel Turki Abdurrahman bin Fares, director of the Command and Control Center of the Dubai Police, urged all drivers to follow road safety guidelines. "The traffic accidents occurred during foggy weather, which is very dangerous as it creates low visibility," he added.
He urged motorists to be careful and alert when the weather changes, especially during foggy conditions, and advised them to keep the vehicle windshield and glass windows clean before driving. Drivers are also asked to maintain a safe distance between vehicles and avoiding speeding on the highways.
