A 14-year-old Yemeni boy drowned in a sea off a Ras Al Khaimah beach on Saturday. Eyewitnesses and police sources said the deceased, identified as Saleh Al Yafei, was swimming in the Dahan sea when high waves pulled him down.
"As the weather got better, Saleh went swimming with his friend today (November 3) in the afternoon," said Hisham Al Yafei, a relative of the deceased.
He added that everything was fine until the waves pulled Saleh deep into the sea. "His friend and some others on the beach called out to him to get out of the water, but he was unable to."
A few minutes later, Saleh was found dead. "The paramedics and rescue teams tried to resuscitate him, but he had already died."
