Residents hoping to make the most of Eid Al Adha in an environment-friendly manner are in luck with Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority extending the operating hours of its services.
The RTA, which operates the Dubai Metro, bus and marine transport services, has extended hours to 3am in many cases.
The Dubai Metro Red Line will operate from 5.50am to midnight from today till Monday; from 5.50am to 3am between Tuesday and Thursday; between 10am and 3am on Friday; and from 5.50am till 3am on October 19.
Meanwhile, the Green Line will run from 5.47am to midnight from today till Monday; from 5.47am to 3am between Tuesday and Thursday; between 9.50am and 3am on Friday; and from 5.47am till 3am on October 19.
Normal metro operating hours are from 5.50am to midnight or 1am on all days of the week, except Fridays when services ordinarily start at 1pm.
Bus stations will also operate longer hours, with the Gold Souq, Al Ghubaiba, Jebel Ali, Al Qusais, Al Quoz Industrial Area and Al Satwa stations opening from 4.30am to 1am the following day on all days of the Eid break. Meanwhile, Al Rashidia, Ibn Battuta, Mall of the Emirates and Burj Khalifa bus stations will be open from 5.15am to 12.15am the following day from today to Monday; from 5.15am till 3.15am between Tuesday and Thursday; between 9.30am and 3.15am on Friday; and from 5.15am till 3.15am on October 19.
Meanwhile, the operating hours of the water bus, water taxis and RTA ferry services will be changed to 10am till midnight, 9am till 10pm and 11am till 7pm, respectively, from today till Thursday.
Driving institutes and intercity buses also have extended hours. For further information, call the customer centre line on 8009090.
