After 35 working days of training on elements such as security and safety rules, defensive driving, avoiding traffic accidents, customer service and dealing with customer complaints, Roads and Transport Authority’s (RTA) Public Transport Agency Drivers’ Affairs Acting Director Mohammed Masoud Al Janahi said the drivers were ready to put into practice the things they had learned. He said the drivers would get continual training as it was an “integral part” of the public transport system.
The drivers will be housed by the RTA at the Jebel Ali station, near their workplace. The residential area has round-the-clock security, a football stadium, a kitchen and lounge room with a sports room with other entertainment projects planned “to get rid of the pressures of daily work”, the RTA said in a Press release.
