The world knows Rafael Nadal as a great tennis champion. But on Wednesday evening, the Spaniard proved that he is an even greater human being.
The 14-time Grand Slam champion was playing an exhibition match with the legendary John McEnroe in Manacor, Mallorca, when he heard heartbreaking cries of a desperate mother in the crowd.
As Nadal was preparing to serve during the match, an unidentified woman in the stadium was seen searching for her daughter as she shouted 'Clara', Clara'.
Nadal immediately realised what has happened and he stopped play as a steward went to the woman to help her look her lost daughter in the crowd.
Luckily for the woman, a section of the crowd soon spotted a crying little girl. The woman soon rushed towards her daughter and gave her a tight hug as the crowd gave a heartwarming applause after the emotional reunion.
Nadal and his Spanish teammate Simon Solbas won the exhibition doubles match against McEnroe and former world number Carlos Moya.
But it was Nadal's gesture that won everybody's heart.
