William Buick rode UAE's World Cup hope Frosted to a record-breaking win in the second round of the Al Maktoum Challenge Gr-2 at the Meydan on Thursday.

His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, attended the race and commented: "It's good to see Frosted winning this race in great style, but with more stringer horses coming from US and elsewhere on the Dubai World Cup night, the competition is going to be harder. Frosted will improve on his present form and I would like to welcome trainer Kiaran McLaughlin back home."
The four-year-old son of Tapit has apparently relished the dirt surface at Meydan to win hands and heels while setting a new track record of 1:56:67 seconds under Wiliam Buick, who said: "Froste is easy to ride and he will definitely improve over this run before the World Cup."
Trainer Kiaran McLaughlin was excited and added: "It's a great run after three months layoff. It is premature to talk about his new target and we need to see how he will come out of the race and talk to the boss before taking further action."

Trainer Ali Rashid Al Raihe said: "I was not worried at all about the heavy weight which he was carrying on his back. He is a very strong and fast horse and jockey Paual Hanagan gave him every assist to give his all. The Al Qouz Sprint Gr-1 on the Dubai World Cup night is the obvious option and this could be through Mahab Al Shemal on the Super Saturday," he said.
