It's the start of a new innings.
Khaleej Times will now provide exclusive coverage of Peshawar Zalmi in the 2nd edition of Pakistan Super League in the UAE.
The tournament will get under way at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on February 9 with the opening match between Zalmi and defending champions Islamabad United.
Dubai and Sharjah will host 23 of the 24 matches in the tournament.
Lahore will host the final on March 7.
Darren Sammy will lead Zalmi. The all-rounder, who led the West Indies to T20 World Cup glory last year in India, is hoping to help Zalmi win their first PSL title.
"I think the way we played together as a team last year, that was our strong point. This year we have recruited some very good international and local players as well. I'm sure it's the same for all the captains to start the tournament on a good note and let the team gel as quickly as possible," Sammy said at the trophy unveiling ceremony in Dubai on Monday.
Zalmi will have a star-studded line-up in the tournament. Shahid Afridi, the Pakistan superstar, will bring all his experience to the team. He will backed by Sri Lankan legend Tilakaratne Dilshan and leading Pakistani fast bowler Wahab Riaz.
