Pakistan T20 captain Sarfraz Ahmed said that body language plays a massive role and added that it shows the intensity against the opponents.
A new-look Pakistan showed a lot of intensity and aggressiveness in defeating world champions the West Indies in the back-to-back T20 Internationals at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Friday and Saturday night.
And Sarfraz said they have been focussing on their fitness, fielding and body language.
"We are trying to develop a new team. We have a new and young set of players we are trying to develop," Sarfraz said.
"Body language is very important in T20 games. If you're body language is not important you will not win the game against any big team. So that's why we are trying to develop body language as being very important," he added.
And Sarfraz put it down to the new coach Mickey Arthur and his support staff for helping in improving their fitness and fielding standards.
"The new coach who comes in, comes with his own set of plans and this coach too has his own plan. He is working hard with the players and a lot of the focus is on the fitness. And in the T20s, our focus is a lot on the fielding and body language. And the results are there to see on the field. When fitness improves, automatically, the fielding improves as well," he said.
Pakistan went in with the same team for both games despite having pacer Mohammed Amir, who returned after his wedding, in their ranks. But Sarfraz said they didn't want to disturb a winning combination.
"We tried not to disturb the combination and decided to continue with the winning combination. Also our target is to give the players who are playing, enough opportunities so that there is no drop in their confidence. Amir is a good bowler and I'm sure in the future, he will be in the team," revealed Sarfraz.
