A 29-year-old woman in China underwent a CT scan after she met with a minor car accident but instead discovered two needles embedded in her brain, supposedly when she was a child.
Known as only Zhu, from Zhengzhou in Henan Province of China, the woman was advised a CT scan to ensure there were no internal damages. While the scan showed no injuries related to the accident, doctors were shocked to find two needle shaped metal objects, each 5cms long and 4.9mm wide, pierced deep in her brain.
The woman told doctors she never felt unwell or experienced any headaches, and confirmed that she also never had surgery on her head. According to doctors, Zhu did not experience any pain or discomfort since the needles are thin and not embedded in an important-function area of the skull.
It is believed that the needles might have been deliberately or accidentally inserted into Zhu's head when she was a child. While Zhu's parents were not aware when and how the needles were inserted in her head, her aunt had found two black spots on her head when Zhu was adopted from a couple.
According to reports quoted Times Now, the woman has reported the matter to the police, meanwhile, doctors have recommended that the foreign bodies be removed.
