Not long ago, Pakistani TV actress Veena Malik announced that she was devoting herself to Islam. She explained how she felt the absence of something in her life, and that in 2013 during Ramadan, to feel better she began praying five times a day.
In an interview with Express Tribune, she said her life turned upside down when she listened to her elders Mufti Naeem, Maulana Tariq Jamil and Junaid Jamshed. She said she was tempted to stray but always managed to stay on the right path because of their guidance.
This year Veena and her husband Asad Bashir recorded a hamd, a devotional song, as a Ramadan gift for her fans and viewers.
Produced by Qaisar Nadeem, a video for the hamd is in the pipeline.
The couple told Dawn News that they were ecstatic about the opportunity to work on this together.
Bashir said,
"In school, I used to recite naats and hamd. When Qaiser bhai told me that Sher Miandad will be involved, and Veena as well, I thought it'd be an opportunity and this is a chance I should not miss."Veena was approached and was instantaneously happy to be o be a part of it,
"I was thrilled and said 'of course, please arrange a meeting."
