Weird Al Yankovic is done making any more albums - but not music.
The famed parody singer, who just released his 14th album, Mandatory Fun, appeared on Larry King Now on Monday, and said he’ll most likely only be releasing single songs from now on.
“I think that from now on I’m going to be releasing singles. Now with digital distribution, I can just get it out there,” Yankovic said. “I think that’s the way for me to be timely, from now on. The album, as a format, has served me well, but it just feels like I shouldn’t have to wait until I have 12 songs to put out something.”
Yankovic, who has also worked in film and television, may also be heading to Broadway soon.
“I’ve gotten some offers to do some writing for some possible Broadway musicals,” Yankovic said. “There’s different things I can do with my kind of sensibility and do the same type of comedy but branch out.”
