His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai took to Instagram to post a tribute video dedicated to the five UAE diplomats who were martyred in the line of duty while carrying out a humanitarian mission in Afghanistan.
The UAE martyrs: Mohammed Ali Zainal Al Bastaki, Abdullah Mohammed Essa Obaid Al Kaabi, Ahmed Rashid Salim Ali Al Mazroui, Ahmed Abdul Rahman Ahmad Al Tunaiji, and Abdul Hamid Sultan Abdullah Ibrahim Al Hammadi were in a humanitarian mission when a terrorist bomb exploded at the headquarters of the Governor of Kandahar in Afghanistan.
Shaikh Mohammed had also condoled the deaths of the martyrs, shortly after news of their deaths spread online.
In a series of tweets, the Ruler tweeted yesterday UAE mourns the death of the diplomats, who were laid down their lives while serving the weak, children and the needy.
Shaikh Mohammed condemned the attack saying that there was no moral or religious justification for the bombing and killing of people who were there to help.
He prayed to Allah to bless the souls of the martyred diplomats, adding that the UAE is proud of their sons who sacrificed their lives in the way of serving humanity. Today, they stand tall as martyrs of humanity which terrorists know nothing about.
