Sheikh Mohammed said the UAE, led by President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, is proud of its existing relations of friendship with the US and is committed to further boosting them in all domains for realising aspirations of the two friendly countries and peoples.
Sheikh Mohammed praised during the meeting, which was attended by H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Advisor, and H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Foreign Minister, the growth the bilateral bonds are witnessing for the best interest of the two friendly countries. Apart from discussing ways of enhancing the close bilateral relations, Sheikh Mohammed and the US minister took note of the latest developments in the Middle East peace process and efforts to relaunch a fresh, serious and feasible negotiations conducing to the attainment of the comprehensive, just and lasting peace, restoring rights to their original owners and enabling peoples of the region live in peace, harmony and welfare.
The UAE and the US agreed on the importance of collective cooperation among all countries of the region with transparency and credibility to make it free
of weapons of mass destruction in order to maintain security, stability and development of its peoples.
For his part, the US Defence Secretary said he was delighted at visiting the friendly UAE, adding that his talks with the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi covered avenues of strengthening joint cooperation. He indicated that he and Sheikh Mohammed also reviewed latest events at the regional and international arenas. UAE Ambassador to Washington HE Yusouf Al Otaiba also present at the meeting.
