A 5-year-old Egyptian girl was brutally beaten to death by her father as she didn't do her nursery homework.
Two days ago, the Boulaq Ad Dakrour Hospital informed police in Giza, south of Cairo, about a girl who had been admitted to the hospital. She had bruises all over her body, including on her head and chest, Al Arabiya reported.
On being probed, the cops discovered that it was the child's father who had thrashed her with a plastic pipe for failing to do her homework.
The child's screams had alerted the neighbours, who rushed to save the girl. But the damage had already been done.
The father was arrested after he confessed to the crime. He said he never intended to kill his own child.
