The total contributions received so far for the benefit of the month-long "Yemen: We Care" donation campaign has now reached Dh502 million, the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) has announced. The campaign was launched last Sunday.
On the directives of Dr Shaikh Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Advisor to the UAE President, the Sultan Bin Khalifa Humanitarian and Scientific Foundation donated Dh500,000 to the Yemen campaign.
Shaikh Sultan also ordered quick delivery of relief material to the people to alleviate their suffering caused by the current events in Yemen, in line with the directives of the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Commending the humanitarian campaign, President of Yemen Abd Rabo Mansour Hadi said: "It is a blessed campaign from a blessed land."
The Yemeni president, during an interview aired on Friday by Abu Dhabi TV, thanked the leadership, government and people of the UAE for their unlimited support.
