Aluminium Bahrain, or Alba, has won government approval for a larger than originally planned $3.5 billion expansion that will boost its output by more than 50 per cent.
The Line 6 expansion project is expected to boost Alba’s annual output by 514,000 tonnes to 1.45 million tonnes a year, the company said on Wednesday. Construction is expected to start in 2016 and production to begin in 2019.
