Dibba staged a fine rally for 2-2 draw against defending champions Al Jazira in the Arabidn Gulf Laqgue's 13th round match at the at the Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi opn Wednesday.
Both the teams missed target and crossed over after the break without scoring a goal. The new Dibba signing Rodolfo da Silva nearly got his second goal in as many games when he beat Al Jazira's international goalkeeper Ali Khaseif with a header, but the Brazilian's 19th minute attempt hit the post.
Al Jazira's Romarinho responded with a fiercely hit left-footed strike from just outside the box but his shot rebounded off the cross bar.
The hosts finally opened the scoring after 55 minutes. Abdulrahim Ahli was conceded a peanlty when he caught Romarinho inside the penalty area. Mbark Boussoufa stepped up and blasted the spot kick into the roof of the net for Al Jazira's first goal.
Ahmed Al Hashemi's impressive season continued with a fifth league goal, a personal record for the 22-year-old.
The Al Jazira forward got on the end of a Romarinho cross to drive home a swift attacking move, doubling the hosts' lead in the 78th minute.
Dibba mounted a counterattack in the final ten minutes. First, Yaseen Mahmoud's corner kick was met with a well taken header from Diogo da Silva, who opened his Dibba account,
A second set-piece produced an equaliser for the visitors five minutes later. This time, it was Rodolfo da Silva heading in from the free kick to the shock of Al Jazira's players and their coach Henk ten Cate.
Al Jazira's winless run now extends to three matches, their 18th point of the season taking them above Al Nasr into fourth place as the latter face Al Wahda in the Wednesday night fixture. Dibba, meanwhile, remain without a win since matchweek 3, but the draw earns them an important 12th point to help them move four points clear of bottom-placed Al Dhafra.
