Neelesh Bhatnagar, director of the Oasis Centre, which is part of the retail giant Landmark Group, said by expanding its network from five malls at present to 12 by the second half of 20015, the operator would consolidate its presence in the GCC. While five of the new malls are in Saudi Arabia, Sharjah and Muscat will each have one new mall.
Also under consideration is the opening of a mall in Ajman, he said.
Speaking at a press briefing, Bhatnagar said the network’s flagship mall located on Shaikh Zayed Road recorded a 11 per cent surge in footfall and an equal per cent growth in sales in 2013.
“The retail industry outlook is very bright and we expect to sustain last year’s growth rate in footfall in 2014,” Bhatnagar said as he announced attractive promotions for shoppers to mark the fifth anniversary celebrations of the Oasis Centre.
The celebrations will last until April 12th and will also include weekend entertainment activities for kids, families and shoppers in general. “Five years after its launch, Oasis Centre is recognized as a favorite destination for the most convenient and rewarding shopping experience. Highly accessible with a host of most admired brands within easy reach, the Centre keeps attracting an increasing number of shoppers from the local community, GCC and international tourists,” said Bhatnagar.
“The 5th birthday of Oasis Centre is an opportunity for us to review what has been achieved and how we can enhance our convenience proposition to our shoppers”, he said.
Bhatnagar pointed out that by hosting fashion, food, leisure, home appliances, décor, electronics, sports stores as well as healthcare and wellness providers, Oasis Centre has become a one stop shop for the community, providing an integrated, hassle-free experience.
“I think we have been very successful in positioning Oasis as a convenient and community shopping centre that creates tangible value for consumers. The brands we host and the activities we undertake do respond to the tastes of a diverse clientele that treasures the unique convenient and rewarding shopping experience we offer,” said Bhatnagar.
During the celebrations period, Oasis Centre will extend its working hours till midnight every day. The Centre will offer 25 per cent off on a minimum of Dh100 spend at most participating outlets as well as double Shukran points, the landmark groups’ rewarding program. In addition, shoppers who spend Dh200 or more will have the chance to win one iPhone 5S every day and Dh100,000 worth of shopping vouchers. Also, Oasis-based Home Centre store will undertake an exclusive Dubai sale that will run until April 20.
