It is quite strange that an online game can go to the extent of attracting children to commit suicide (India orders ban on Blue Whale suicide game, KT, August 16). I wonder what the objective was behind inventing such a game. As more and more children are getting excessively exposed to the internet mostly through mobile devices, parents have to be aware that danger in some form or the other is lurking around the corner. The extensive use of social media helps spread such horrific and dangerous games. Youngsters get carried away and they end up doing things they should not be doing. On another note, the report 'Sushma Swaraj announces medical visas for Pakistanis' (KT, August 16) emphasises very basic value of human ethics. Despite the fact that several issues exist between the neighbouring countries India is genuinely trying to help those seeking medical assistance. The foreign ministry's effort needs to be appreciated. On the other hand, it is great to know that Pakistan values the health facilities in India.
