Schools should be medically prepared

With regards to the news, Class 1 student dies of heart attack in India (KT, Oct 15), school authorities should ensure that the medical needs of children while in school are met with. Only then should the school be allowed to function.
In a school in the UAE, a four-year-old diabetic child is provided with a nurse to monitor her blood sugar levels during school hours and she is under observation even when her parents are not around. This is how prepared schools should be.
