Tap into your inner self, it will answer all questions (KT, Oct 7) made a very valid and interesting read. Positive self talk has immense benefits as pointed out in the article. Self talk during the pandemic is probably among the best ways for the preservation of mental health and the most effective way to direct minds towards sensible action.
Self talk quietens disturbed minds and offers solutions to many issues that often lie within ourselves. Even though people can seek help from professionals or near and dear ones to address psychological turmoil especially during this pandemic, I think nothing compares with positive self-talk. Ultimately, it is the person concerned who has to suggest and transform himself or herself.
One can indulge in positive self-talk through mindfulness and meditation. Such practices allow one to tap into inner self by providing the silence and space that is much needed for introspection. The transition happens smoothly and has long term positive effects on the mind. Therefore, even if people are able to devote only five to ten minutes of their day to tap the inner self, it is worth it. - Latha Narasimhan, Sharjah
