Do fake bags cost a life?

This is with regard to the article, Fakes come with a big price tag, (June 15). I enjoyed reading it but am not convinced enough about not buying fake branded luxury items. Fake medicines and cosmetics cost lives no doubt, and everyone should be against it. But, the article mentions that fake Louis Vuitton and Prada products come with a cost of life. I would like to know how a fake LV, Prada or Gucci can cost a life. The market is all about showing off brands, whether fake or original. Hence the column was not convincing enough. I feel KT should give more details of how fake bags can cost a life.
