The Ministry of Education has suspended a firm supplying food to school cafeterias after 30 children from two schools in Al Ain fell ill because of suspected food poisoning.
The Ministry said on its Twitter account that the food supplier was suspended and investigations into the matter were ongoing.
Officials said the children suffered from minor food-related illnesses and that all have received the necessary treatment.
The health condition of all children is stable now, said the ministry.
"The Ministry of Education is working with the Department of Health in Abu Dhabi to provide the best standards of medical care to our students and to ensure that they are in good health," the ministry said in a tweet.
"The ministry formed an emergency committee to work with the Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority and the team has already sent out inspectors to investigate the incident."
