A police official told Khaleej Times on Tuesday that the Operations Room Police received information about stench in a parking area near a residential building along Jumeirah Road in Dubai. During search, the police found the decomposed body wrapped in a plastic bag in a car. There were no identification papers on the body. Autopsy and forensic tests conducted by the General Department of Forensic Medicine showed that the man had died three days back.
During the investigation, CID teams learnt that the deceased had rented the car from a car rental office in Dubai. Once they came to know of the identity and address of the person from the car rental office, they interrogated neighbours and learnt that two persons were with him — Selvia, 25, and Antony, 27 — on Wednesday night. Police tracked them down. During interrogation, they told the police that they went to a night club but came back to their friend’s apartment after sometime. They started taking drugs and fell asleep after getting high.
When they woke up and tried to wake the victim up, they found out that he had already died. To avoid legal hassles for drug use and involvement in the victim’s death, they wrapped the body in a plastic bag and put it inside the car in the parking area. They denied killing the person.
