His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, has reiterated the UAE's unwavering support to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the fight against terrorism and criminal ideas as well as its fight against extremism and violence.
This came during a telephone call that Shaikh Mohamed bin Zayed made to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia. They exchanged greetings on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr.
Sheikh Mohamed extended his sincere condolences and sympathy to King Salman over the innocent victims of criminal acts who were cowardly targeted in the vicinity of the Prophet's Mosque and in other areas of the Kingdom. He prayed to Allah Almighty to rest their souls in eternal peace, safeguard the Kingdom and its people. Shaikh Mohamed also wished speedy recovery to the injured.
He underlined that the UAE, led by President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, was and will remain a strong backer of the Kingdom in its fight against those who tried to assault the sanctity of the Prophet's Mosque during the holy month of Ramadan.
The Crown Prince further said, "Such cowardly acts will not deter us from exerting more efforts and extending cooperation nor would we relent in our determination to fight against the advocates of falsehood and criminality who seek chaos, sabotage and destruction. God willing, they will not weaken our resolve to uproot them." He noted that the Kingdom will remain intact in the face of evil and hatred.
He noted that "those spoilers are fighting against our Islamic religion, compassion, tolerance and peace. They are also fighting against humanity through their criminal acts."
For his part, the Saudi King expressed his thanks and appreciation for the position taken by the UAE leadership and people, praying to the Almighty Allah to protect all from the scourge of terrorism, and bestow the blessings of security and stability on the Arab and Muslim countries.
