dubai - The newly-appointed governor of Aden has appreciated the efforts made by the UAE to bring back stability to Yemen, especially that of the UAE's martyrs.
In a statement given to the 24.ae news website, Major-General Jafar Mohamad Saad said "the sacrifices made by the UAE will remain deep-rooted in every Yemeni's heart."
Major-General Saad assured the UAE leadership that Yemen would not show tolerance when it comes to fighting terrorism, abiding to laws. However, he said: "Whatever we said, we cannot fulfil the rights of those heroic martyrs," adding that helping the families of martyrs, treating the injured and ensuring they receive humanitarian relief top his list of priorities.
A joint plan has been laid down by the Arab coalition led by Saudi Arabia to exercise control and security to tighten the coalition's grip in the governorate and rid the city of inactive terrorist sleeper cells.
Saad also hailed the humanitarian relief efforts made by the UAE in Aden through the UAE Red Crescent.
"Now, Aden is a safe city. People are having a stable and normal life. We will be working on reconstruction of the governorate to meet the requirements of the citizens."
The new governor confirmed that it will be facilitating the procedures for Arab and foreigners to invest in Aden to help the city prosper and create more job opportunity, that can put an end to unemployment rates.
Regarding the issue of eradicating corruption, the major-general said that law will be the arbitrator, which will at a later phase rid all establishments of corruption.
Asked about the latest Aden attack, he said: "The plots of ousted president Ali Abdullah Saleh have become clearer to all. Saleh exploited terrorist groups to his advantage to win his goals."
The new governor has many tasks awaiting him in Aden, the temporary capital of Yemen, since it was liberated late in July from the grip of Houthis militias and forces loyal to the former president.
