Dubai - The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai, in coordination with the charity association and societies in the emirate, has launched a special fund for humanitarian cases.
Dr Hamad Al Shaibani, director-general of the department, said the move is in line with the ‘happiness indicator’ initiative to measure people’s happiness and satisfaction with the services provided by government departments on a daily basis.
“Through this initiative, all government departments will be linked digitally to a central network providing daily report to decision makers who would monitor customers’ satisfactions geographically so as to improve the quality of services provided and ensure the public is happy.”
A happy person can work more effectively, actively and positively, he added. “The unprecedented philanthropic works of the UAE charity associations, locally and abroad, speak volumes about the UAE’s happy trend.”
It is as His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoup, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, said: “As the world constantly changes so are people’s expectations and thus the need to daily monitor these changes to provide services tailored to people’s needs,” he underlined.
Ali Khalfan Al Mansuri, manager of charity associations at the department, said the relief fund is aimed at offering urgent assistance to emergency humanitarian cases.
“All the charity associations and societies operating in the emirate under the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai will chip in the promising initiative.”
The UAE spares no effort to serve as an international hub for humanitarian services as directed by the country’s prudent leaders who tirelessly support philanthropic efforts locally and across the globe.
