TNT have added their support to the biggest and most popular Pro-Am in the Middle East by becoming presenting partner for the second Worldwide Golf regional qualifying event to be held under floodlights on the Faldo Course at Emirates Golf Club on November 22. TNT will also provide gifts for all the participating players and prizes for the leading players in the adult and junior sections.
A full field will be competing to make the Grand Final where the best adult and the best junior can win a coveted Golden Ticket for The Invitational.
“We are delighted to be joining forces with The Invitational in an event that has grown into one of the biggest sporting occasions in the Middle East,” commented Bryan Moulds, Managing Director, TNT Middle East.
“The Invitational is one of the events that every amateur golfer wants to play. The tournament has the reputation of being the most entertaining yet competitive Pro-Am there is. Amateurs especially relish the chance to play with 52 of The European Tour’s leading players. “We have run our own TNT series over the last three years and for us to be involved in the Worldwide Golf Golden Ticket Qualifying tournaments is a great way to connect with a much wider audience.” Apart from being a must-play event for any amateur, The Invitational Hosted by Abdullah Al Naboodah has raised more than AED2million for local and international charities in the last few years.
Tournament Director James Bowring, who hosted last month’s hugely successful Worldwide Golf Golden Ticket Qualifying tournament at Yas Links, believes The Invitational 2011 will be the best yet.
“This is a very special opportunity for amateur golfers in the GCC to win a Golden Ticket to play in The Invitational and has certainly captured the imagination of the golfing community in the region,” he said.
“The level of expectation that the Qualifying events have created has been amazing, and we still have three Qualifiers to go; at Arabian Ranches on November 15 for Ladies, at Emirates Golf Club on November 22, and at Al Hamra Golf Club, Ras Al Khaimah on December 9 prior to the Grand Final on January 12.”
