Lindsay Brown sets the pace

DUBAI - Lindsay Brown set the early pace in Emirates Golf Federation’s Ladies Order of Merit after winning the season-opening 2010 Ladies Open, sponsored by BMW, at the Montgomerie Dubai, a press release said.

Representing the Palm Sports Resort, Brown shot gross rounds of 76 and 75 to win the title by two shots from nearest rival Nasha Sarkari of Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club.

The victory earned her a maximum 30 points, six clear of Sarkari while Sana Tufail of Abu Dhabi Golf Club and Claire Lindsay (Jumeirah Golf Estates) are tied for third with 21 points each.

Serifa D’Souza, who plays off a decent 17 handicap, took the early lead in the Ladies Order of Merit Net Division. The Dubai Creek golfer carded a net 70 and 63 for an incredible seven-shot win over Kavita Sehmi of Emirates Golf Club. Serifa now has 30 points to her credit, six ahead of Kavita while Claire Lindsay and Henna Jodha are placed tied third with 20.3 points.
