Stunts are inherently risky. And this one was nearly fatal.
A base jumper should thank his stars for surviving a fall from a 246-foot-tall building when his parachute failed to open, leaving him to crash on the floor. This happened in Sweden's capital city Stockholm.
The 10-second video - made presumably by his friend - shows that as the man jumps off from the building, the parachute doesn't deploy and he plunges to the ground. Luckily, it didn't turn out to be fatal, according to media reports.
The bas jumper was taken to the hospital immediately. He is undergoing treatment, but the injuries are not life threatening.
Interestingly, soon after this, the man's friend leaped off from the same building and landed safely on the ground, Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter reports.
Base jumping from buildings isn't illegal as long as proper permission is sought to access the roof or floor to make the jump, Stockholm Police was quoted as saying in the report.
