Shaikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance, has donated Dh600,000 to students of the Higher Colleges of Technology.
Mirza Al Sayegh, member of the board of trustees of Al Maktoum Foundation and director of Shaikh Hamdan bin Rashid's office, handed over the cheque to Dr Abdullatif Al Shamsi, vice-chancellor of the HCT, in the presence of a number of officials.
Al Sayegh stressed that Shaikh Hamdan takes great interest in extending financial support to needy students through the HCT's Associated Students Fund. Noting that this is Shaikh Hamdan's fifth donation in five years, Al Sayegh underlined the importance of the HCT as an excellent academic institution. - Wam
