Taking the decision to study abroad may be one of the most beneficial experiences for a college student. By studying abroad, students have the opportunity to explore a foreign country and take in the allure and culture of a new land.
But students also want the answers to a number of questions before they can make up their mind. Some of the most common queries are how to get scholarships, build a strong profile, avail pathway programme options, apply to top universities across the globe, and what are the programmes with good job prospects, among others.
With an aim to put students as well as parents mind at ease is Futures Abroad, a unique education-consultancy group. Vandana Mahajan, former Director of International Liaison at University of Toronto, is the Founder and Managing Director of the group. With over 20 years of experience in working with top universities and counselling students, Mahajan works closely with universities and is on the board of several top universities providing assistance in student admissions and building strategy. Having worked with a top university for several years gives her and the team an edge in assisting students in university placements.
The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) has also accredited Futures Abroad for education and support services in the UAE.
Mahajan says, "Futures Abroad provides students with personalised counselling, catering to their needs while assisting them in creating pathways to academic success. We work closely with our clients and pay special attention to every minute detail that is essential for your success. We help students with special needs find a niche and a spot in leading universities across the globe."
According to Mahajan, some of the popular education destinations for students in the UAE today include opting for courses in Canada, U.K., U.S., Australia and Europe. She highlights that the top five courses students look at when applying abroad include Medicine, Engineering, Business, Architecture, Law, and Cyber Security.
Futures Abroad offers scholarship guidance and teenage counselling through experts in the field to support the students through this stressful process. It also provides assistance to students with financial need.
"This year two students from the UAE received 100 per cent need based financial aid in the U.S. and Canada through our support," she adds.
Futures Abroad is also hosting one of the largest university fairs, from October 29 to November 7, in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman and Al Ain, to help students meet foreign universities directly to get first-hand information. For more information contact info@futuresabroad.com.
